The Requirement
The multinational retail company had infrastructures in several countries.
The main critical issue was the absence of a structured disaster recovery plan: in the event of failure or unavailability of the main data centres, there was a risk that services could be interrupted, resulting in direct impacts for the company.
The customer was looking for a solution capable of:
- Minimising downtime (stringent RTO and RPO)
- Ensuring compliance with internal securityrules and policies
- Having a tested, documented plan, with clear procedures for operational personnel
The Solution
N&C adopted a structured four-stepapproach, designed to meet the customer’s requirements. We designed and implemented an end-to-end disaster recovery plan, consisting of:
- Initial assessment – systems analysis and definition of service levels.
- Solution design – resilient infrastructure with backup and automation.
- Operational Implementation – operational configurations and team training.
- Testing and validation – procedure validation and documented compliance.
The Result
Through the new disaster recovery plan:
- The company has guaranteed business continuity of retail systems internationally, reducing recovery times from days to a few hours.
- Clear SLAshave been established and tested: RTO of two hours and RPO of 15 minutes.
- Procedures are now documented, tested and shared with staff, reducing operational risk.
- The customer has increased confidence in IT resilience, which has a direct impact on the customer experience and the security of sales and logistics processes.
