The Requirement
An enterprise customer requested support from N&C to optimise and restructure its active directory infrastructure, both for its on-premise component and with a view to migrating to Azure Active Directory.
The project is part of a broader process of corporate IT consolidation, aimed at improving security, interoperability and efficiency in identity and access management systems.
The main challenges concerned the complexity of existing integrations, the alignment between legacy and cloud environments, the creation of a coordinated workflow with human resources (HR), and the need to maintain full operability during all phases of the project.
The Solution
N&C adopted a framework structured in four stages, designed to guarantee an orderly, secure and documented transition of the existing AD structure.
Project phases:
- Analysis – AD architecture, access and critical points.
- Planning and reorganisation – consolidation, optimisation and new workflows.
- Operation – final testing and delivery for hybrid or cloud scenarios.
The Result
The project provided the customer with a more organised, secure and flexible active directory structure, ready to support evolutions to the cloud and manage users, devices and corporate resources more effectively.
