The Requirement
The customer needed to build a new high-performance computing (HPC) data centre for advanced computational workloads related to artificial intelligence.
The project is part of a technology development plan driven by research, predictive modelling and big data processing.
The main challenge was to ensure processing power and operational reliability while maintaining high standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The Solution
We designed the entire infrastructure of the new 1.1 MW HPC data centre, applying an advanced engineering approach focused on efficiency, monitoring and energy reuse.
The project included:
- High-efficiency cooling systems, designed for HPC and integrated with heat recovery for district heating.
- Evolved design logic, aimed at reducing the number of active components and increasing the overall reliability of the system.
- Emergency cooling system with graceful shutdown processes, which utilises thermal inertia to secure critical loads even in the absence of power.
- Algorithm Supersaver: proprietary software for dynamic temperature management, which optimises the balance between energy efficiency and business continuity, reducing power consumption in real time.
The Result
The infrastructure put in place enabled the customer to have access to a high-performance data centre capable of handling complex workloads in an efficient and sustainable manner.
The main benefits:
- Energy optimisation with a significant reduction in consumption through intelligent logic and environmentally friendly systems.
- Maximum operational reliability for mission-critical applications related to artificial intelligence.
- Strategic energy recovery, reusing heat to power the district heating system for offices, further reducing the carbon footprint.
- Long-term value in terms of sustainability, scalability and meeting the requirements of the data-intensive industry.
"Our commitment is to build future-proof data centres that combine advanced technology and sustainability with expertise but above all with passion."
