WINP scientific publication now online
The scientific publication dedicated to WINP is now available. WINP is an N&C Research and Development project focused on the use of WiFi sensing for intelligent indoor localization.
WINP leverages existing Wi-Fi infrastructures not only for connectivity, but as a tool for environmental sensing, enabling the creation of a real-time, accessible, and low-cost system, as an alternative to solutions based on GPS or dedicated infrastructures.
A scientifically validated, field-tested contribution
The project was developed by the internal R&D team and validated in real-world environments such as offices and warehouses.
The solution combines Channel State Information (CSI), SVM classification algorithms, and a Kalman filter, achieving sub-meter accuracy and temporal stability in asset tracking.
WINP fits within the evolving landscape of WiFi sensing, a technology currently being standardized by the IEEE with the 802.11bf standard.
New application perspectives
The results achieved open up concrete scenarios for applications in industrial, commercial, and smart building contexts, with indoor localization and privacy-preserving presence detection solutions based on existing infrastructures.
WINP represents a further step in N&C’s technological innovation journey.
